Bright Stars: Kiwanuka Worried About Missed Chances

Bright Star FC head coach Paul Kiwanuka Couldn’t hide his worries about the missed chances by his team following a one-all draw in their UPL match day 23 against Busoga United at Kavumba.

Bright Stars failed to hold onto their 22nd minute 1-0 lead handed in by Joseph Janjali when they conceeded an equalizer through a well headed Anwar Ntege’s effort in 37th minute.

However, they had chances to add on to their one goal and several chances to reclaim their lead after, but Captain Nelson Senkatuka and goal scorer Janjali proved too wasteful when they missed a couple of clear cut chances.

Their hot cake player Marvin Young had been someway short of his usual lofty standards almost in the entire game and in the few moments where he emerged quite vigour, were not good enough to make an impact as most of his attempts were far off target.

“The performance is not bad, only that we are not getting maximum points, we are getting chances and the only problem they are not putting them away,” Paul Kiwanuka in post match interview.

“It worries because if you create chances, you have to convert them into goals to get maximum but am still confident that we can still make it just because it makes the job difficult and more easier at the same time, because the more you lose the more you get motivated and we have to stay motivated to win next games “

With seven matches left to play, Bright Stars seat 14th on the log with only 21 points and they traveling far away from home to play fellow red zone occupants in their next fixture which is, the rock bottom Tooro United who are yet to physically lose a gate at Buhinga since second round.

To make it worse, among their remaining matches they have to pay visits to two member of top three, that’s URA and KCCA, before facing Onduparaka and Mbarara City at the end of the season, who will also be fighting for their lives.
