UPDF 0-3 KCCA
KCCA returned to winning ways with a convincing 3-0 victory over UPDF at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.
Sadat Anaku who was involved in all the three goals broke the deadlock to set the tone for what turned out to be an easy day out for the Visitors.
It was an awful afternoon for the hosts who saw Ivan Ahimbisibwe miss from the spot, which was a glorious chance to level matters before the break.
And Okello Donato scored into his own net before Substitute Brian Aheebwa decorated the win.
KCCA reduces the tally to four points adrift of leaders Vipers who are in action later in the day against Mbarara City at Kitende.
The hosts started well in the opening minutes but couldn’t find an opener.
Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan made an early save to keep out Kigozi Ambrose shot.
Sadat Anaku header from the near post gave the visitors the lead in the 15th minute following a corner from Herbert Achai that was met by Denis Iguma.
Yiga Frank attempt was deflected off Hassan Jurua as the hosts pressed for a leveller but the resultant corner was easily handled by the Goalkeeper.
James Begisa attempted cross beat the Goalkeeper after a miscalculation but it kissed the cross bar.
Goalkeeper Wasswa made a nice diving save to deny Sadat Anaku who could have buried it from a Charles Lwanga header.
Kigozi could have levelled the tie but his header was deflected off Filbert Obenchan.
Wasswa was once again forced into a fingertip save from Sadat Anaku strike after controlling Ashraf Mugume shot.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe could have equalised for UPDF from the spot at the stroke of halftime but it was saved by Goalkeeper Benjamin Ochan after a minimal contact from Hassan Jurua on Okello Donato in the area.
Okello Donato scored an own goal to double KCCA lead in the 65th minute tapping in Brian Majwega after a nice run from Sadat Anaku.
Anaku made a good run past Kasozi but his last touch was easy for the Goalkeeper.
Brian Ahebwa sealed the win for KCCA with the third goal from a rebound after Anaku’s effort was saved by the Goalkeeper in the 80th.
UPDF are are 9th with 27 points after 23 matches while KCCA moves to 2nd with 45 points in 22 matches.
UPDF will travel away Busoga United on Tuesday 12th while KCCA welcome Arua Hill at the MTN Phillip Omondi Stadium on Monday 11th.
