FUFA Fines SC Villa Coach Petros Koukouras

The FUFA Competitions Disciplinary panel has fined SC Villa Head coach Petros Koukouras UGX 2M for breaching Article 31(2) of the FUFA Competitions Rules.

It is said that during the Uganda Premier League match between Wakiso Giants FC and Sc Villa played on the 30.3.2022 that ended 2-1 in favour of Villa at Kabaka Kyabaggu, Petros kicked a second ball in the field of play in persistent protest, a conduct which is contrary to the rules and regulations and brings the game of football into disrepute.

Furthermore, the greek coach also delayed to exit the field of play upon being shown marching orders. He also incited the home team fans with his gestures and conduct as he exited the field of play which incited them into throwing objects and subsequently stoppage of the game.

As a result, the Federation through it’s Competitions Disciplinary Panel found the greek guilty of his acts and had to take action on him.

“FUFA Competitions Disciplinary has fined Sc Villa Head coach Petros Koukouras UGX 2M for breaching Article 31(2) of the FUFA Competitions Rules, reads part of the statement from the Federation.

“The Federation has also prohibited Petros from taking part in any national football activities until payment of the fine. SC Villa is directed to ensure implementation of the Committee’s decision against Petros Koukouras.

Koukouras’ fine is a big blow to him as head coach and to his club as well who are fighting for life in the league.

His side Villa are currently in the 10th position with only 25 points after 23 games in the season.
