Preview : BUL seek to return to winning ways against URA
Bul FC will be eager to return to winning ways when they host URA FC at the Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe on Monday.
The Jinja based have drawn two of their last league hames each coming against Busoga United and Mbarara City, with all ending in a 1-all draws.
Back at home in Bugembe, they host a tricky URA FC side that still has sights on keeping up the pace with leaders Vipers.
Ahead of the game, head coach Alex Isabirye anticipates a tough contest but is hopeful they will bounce back to winning ways on Monday.
“It won’t be an easy game since they (URA) are ahead of us by five points and we will want to reduce on that gap. We have gone three games without a win but I hope tomorrow we shall return to winning ways, he told the club’s media on Sunday.
Seated in the fourth place with 38 points, it’s now night time for Bul FC to start picking up needed results if they are to achieve their objective of finishing up in the top four places.
Meanwhile the Visitors URA will be targeting maximum points as well to keep pressure on leaders Vipers.
The Tax Collectors are currently in the second position with 43 points, six below current leaders Vipers, but have played two more games than the leaders.
They come into Monday’s game off a disappointing result against Arua Hill last week on Tuesday, one that ended goalless at home.
Away from home against Bul, there must be a better reaction from Sam Timbe’s men to close the gap at the top.
They face a Bul FC side that is mathematically still in the title chase and also has ambitions of finishing up in a better place.
But with only seven games to go, URA must start picking up needed results if they are to fight for the big prize this season.
Throughout this season, URA’s major challenge has been lack of consistency and they must react in these last few games.
The reverse fixture played earlier last year in November saw a 2- all draw between both sides. Bul’s Joseph Ssemujju scored a late penalty to deny URA all the three points at home, adding on Musa Esenu’s goal. Steven Mukwala and Captain Shafik Kagimu scored for URA that day.
Match Stats
Bul FC are currently in the 4th position with 38 points after 23 games (W10, D8, L5).
They have picked two draws, won one and lost the other in their last four league games.
URA are in seated second with 43 points after 23 games so far in the season. (W11, D10, L2)
They have registered two wins and drawn three in their last five League outings.
