There is much anticipation ahead of this season’s National Volleyball League playoffs after the conclusion of the regular season.

The league is set for conclusion for the first time since 2019 after Covid19 hiatus.

Nemo Stars, OBB, Sport-S and Nkumba finished 1-4th in that order to book their place in the semifinal playoffs.
KAVC, Ndejje and KCCA missed out on playoffs while UCU and Prisons were relegated to Serie B.

Flavia Umohoza who is part of the Uganda Volleyball Federation Organising Committee confirmed that the playoffs will be played on Best of Three format – The first team to win two games in series progresses.
“We are ready for the playoffs and we are very excited as UVF,” Umuhoza told The-SportsNation. “We are right on schedule and we want to have finished the league by May.”
“We call fans to come and support their teams, and will get value for their money because teams will be putting out their best performances.”
Umuhoza also stated that the National League (Serie A) playoffs will be held at the Old Kampala Arena. The Federation couldn’t secure the Lugogo Arena where playoffs have been held in the past.

Nemo Stars who have won the competition for the last three seasons, will once again be the team to beat.
Having lost the National Club Championship in January to Sport-S, Nemo are expected to come hungrier.
The emergence of Orange Block Busters (OBB) this season has made the league even more competitive, and are strong competitors to Nemo’s crown.
OBB won 13 of the 16 matches played to finish second with 40 points, just a point below Nemo.
But they still have Sport-S to worry about first in the first hurdle, with Sport-S having won their last League title in 2009.

In the Ladies division, giants and defending champions KCB Nkumba University missed out on a place in playoffs after finishing 5th with 14 points.
The Seri A Women league will have a new champions for the first time in three seasons!
Ndejje, Sport-S, VVC and KCCA finished in the playoffs places and will be going all out for the big Prize.
Ndejje meet KCCA for a repeat of the Volleyball Championship final in Kabale in October last year when the University side emerged winners.
KCCA will be going for revenge and will fancy their chances this time having come closer to winning the title on 2019 before they were beaten in finals at Lugogo but Ndejje will seek to exorcise 2016 demons when they last won the title.
VVC and Sport-S meet in the other semifinals which also promises to go to the wire.
UCU were relegated to Women Serie B having finished bottom of the seven-team group.
