City Oilers inflicted UPDF Tomahawks their first loss in the new season of the Tusker Lite sponsored 2022 NBL encounter at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.
The 65-49 victory is the third for City Oilers in a row for a side that got their league campaign off to a poor a start having lost to Nam Blazers.
It was expected that UPDF would put up a good challenge against Oilers on Friday, having come into the encounter in huge form after winning their opening three games.
But City Oilers led the first 18-10 and kept them at arms length until the final buzzer.

UPDF had some good spells including winning the last quarter 20-17 but Oilers had already done their damage.
Luak Ruai, MVP of the UCU Invitational tournament, led Oilers way with 15 points, Ivan Lumanyika contributed a double double of 14 points and 17 rebounds while Caesar Kizito scored 11 points.
Andrew Gang’s 16-point game high performance proved not enough for Tomahawks on the night.

It was a deserved win for Oilers but coach Mandy Juruni will feel that his side is still far away from where he wants them to be after turning over the ball 40 times!
The seven time record defending champions also missed 14 of their 19 shots from outside the three-point arch.
Oilers will return to league action against six-time Champions and sleeping giants Falcons on April 9 while UPDF will face UCU Canons on April 8.
In the first encounter on Friday, Catherine Haruri (formerly at Nkumba Lady Marines) scored 13 points as KCCA Leopards eased past sorry A1 Challenge to pick a commanding 78-30 win.
