URA 2-1 Onduparaka
Dada Ibrahim was the hero as his late header ensured URA return to winning ways after a 2-1 victory over relegation threatened Onduparaka in the startimes Uganda Premier League at the Arena of Visions.
Steven Mukwala gave the hosts the lead before Mansoor Safi long range freekick put the game level.
It’s a a big advantage for the tax collectors in their quest for the title while a huge blow for the caterpillars as they hope to avoid relegation.
URA enjoyed most of the possession in the opening exchange but the first clear cut chance fell to Baden Mujahid who failed to connect well with ball.
For the hosts, Ssekajuko didn’t do enough to Bury Sseruyidde cross before Mukwala failed to capitalise on the visitor’s poor defending off Mandela cross.
Mukwala could have given the home team the lead but Amayo threw his body to the ground to deflect the ball for a corner after a nice build up from Galiwango, Mukwala and Kagimu.
Alionzi made a sweet save to deny Skipper Muhammad Shaban whose rebound was cleared off line calmly by Patrick Mbowa.
Steven Mukwala finally gave URA the lead in the 35th minute after rounding off Defender Ojara Dennis from Ssekajuko header.
Looking for an instant response, Sserunjogi header went wide from Mansoor freekick.

Alionzi Nafian finally beaten after a well taken freekick by Mansoor Safi to equalise for the visitors in the 48th minute.
Mbowa header went wide off Kyeyune corner kick as the hosts pressed for a lead.
Alionzi made a goalline reflect save to deny Mansoor Safi his brace.
Ibrahim Dada restored the host’s lead with a well timed header off Serubiri cross in the 82nd minute.
URA are 3rd on the log with 38 points after 20 matches while Onduparaka are 13th with 18 points.

URA next assignment is an away trip to Betway Mutesa II Stadium Wankulukuku against Express on Friday 18th while Onduparaka will host Mbarara City at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium on Wednesday 16th March.
