FUFA Hands Lady Doves Captain Another Suspension

FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has suspended Lady Doves FC Captain Reticia Nabbosa from the next three Fufa Women Super league matches following her unsporting behavior.

During their game against She Corporates last week on Saturday, Nabbosa slapped her teammate young goalkeeper Agatha Agnes Adong for conceding the second goal from a well taken free kick by Phionah Nabbumba as they lost on the day.

Following her unsporting act, earlier this week on Monday, Lady Doves had initially suspended Nabbosa for the next seven days and also relieved her from the Captaincy role for the next 30 days.

However, following a review by the FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel, Nabbosa has been found guilty of breaching Article 31 (2) of the Fufa Competitions rules and Regulations.

The statement from Fufa reads:

“FUFA Competitions Disciplinary Panel has suspended Lady Doves FC Captain Reticia Nabbosa from the next three FUFA Women Super league matches due to her un sporting behaviors towards her teammate (goalkeeper) in the game against She Corporate on Saturday 26th February 2022.

Nabbosa was found guilty of breaching Article 31 (2) of the Fufa Competitions rules and Regulations.”

With the new developments, Nabbosa will have to miss the next fixture against Olila High School on Monday 7th, Tooro Queens and Kampala Queens fixtures.

She will be expected to be back on March 26th as Lady Doves take on Kawempe Muslim at Masindi.

Nabbosa’s suspension is a big blow to the defending Champions Lady Doves, who have had a poor start into this year’s FUFA Women Super league.

They have only managed to collect a single point after four games and are currently sitted at the rock bottom of the log.
