Hosts St Mary’s SS Kitende won three trophies in the just concluded Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) in a three-day tournament.
St Mary’s Kitende won in Boys football, Girls Basketball and Netball.
To win the Boys football which was played in a round robin format, they finished top of the log with 10 points with three wins against Dynamic SS, STAHIZA and SMASK B, and a draw with Royal Giants High School Mityana.
SMASK also scooped the trophy in Netball and Girl’s Basketball – They beat Nabisunsa Girls 39-25 to win the basketball tournament.
After collecting 7 points with two wins against God Cares High School and Gadafi International and a draw with St Noah SS, Kawempe Muslim emerged as the champions of the girl’s football.
Bethel Boys were the champions of the Basketball while Standard High School Zzana (STAHIZA) and Katakamu SDA winners in the boys and girls volleyball respectively.
Speaking after the games, FEASSSA President Justus Mugisha said they had a successful and competitive tournament and the teams now know were their strength lies.
“Games went on very well, this is like a curtain raiser and all teams have shown their readiness,” Mugisha said.
“This year we shall get a very strong tournament, all teams that participated knew what they portrayed.”
