Mbarara City revenged against URA FC after eliminating the Tax collectors on Penalty shootouts after a one all draw in full-time in the thrilling Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 at the Kakyeka Stadium.
Skipper Shafik Kagimu gave the Tax collectors a first half lead before Solomon Okwalinga equalised from the spot in the second half.
After failing to save any of the eleven Penalties, Goalkeeper Alitho James had his penalty saved to end the tax collectors Uganda Cup Journey.
Goalkeeper Ssekeba Muhammad was the hero after he denied his counterpart and scored the winning penalty to put Mbarara City in the Round of 16.
It’s a successful revenge for the Ankole Lions who were eliminated by the Tax collectors on the same stage last season.
This is a relief for Mbarara City who were winless in their last five matches and they hope this win will be a great boost for them.
The Ankole Lions Join UPDF, Iganga Young, Ndejje University, Mbale Heroes, Wakiso Giants, Onduparaka, Tipsah, Kataka, BUL, Police, Maroons, Bright Stars, Vipers and Booma United in the Round of 16.
