KCCA FC coach Morley Byekwaso says that they want to win a double this season ahead of their Stanbic Uganda Cup round of 32 match against Bright Stars at the Omondi stadium in Lugogo.

KCCA won their maiden double in 2017 after beating Paidha Blacks Angles in Uganda Cup final, having won the earlier that season.

Byekwaso will fancy his chances to exorcise 2017 demons but has urged his playersto be more sharp in front of goal.

“Our targets have never changed. We want to win the League and Uganda Cup. The players, technical and management are all focused on this and that is the goal,” said Morley Byekwaso.

“It is a bit worrying that our forwards are not scoring but we have handed the responsibility to each and every player to score. We have taken them through drills that enable each and everyone to score goals when handed a goal scoring opportunity.”

KCCA FC (Yellow) meet Bright Stars

KCCA FC managed to pick up a 1-1 draw in their first round league match as they visited Bright Stars at Kavumba.

The Kasasiro boys will have to rely on striker Sadat Anaku who returns to the squad after missing the last three games as he was involved in the team FUNDI tour in Spain.

Julius Poloto, Ali Mwirusi and defender Denis Iguma who suffered a hamstring injury all return to the side with a huge task of eliminating Bright stars.

KCCA FC have been so dominant at home and are yet to lose a single match playing at their ground in Lugogo.

Bright stars on the other hand, are eager to eliminate record holders KCCA FC at the round of 32.

“We take this game as a final, if we lose we are out and if we win we progress to the next stage,” said Bright Stars coach Paul Kiwanuka.

“It means a lot playing against KCCA FC and all the players are yearning for better results so it’s important to see that they are in a good shape and make the squad.”

Kiwanuka who labelled KCCA FC one of the biggest club in Uganda has backed his side on the preparations made towards the game.

“Our preparations against KCCA FC have never been good and all players are in good shape for the game. Winning against KCCA FC will be a huge motivation as we are preparing for the next games to come.”

Both sides have faced each other 17 times in all competitions and the Kasasiro boys have been so dominant winning 10 and drawing 5 losing just two games.

A tougher test awaits Bright Stars who have been struggling with inconsistency as they are still battling with the relegation zone.
