UPDF Midfielder Okello Donato says that he will put in more effort after recent impressive performance.
Donato was recently named the Pilsner Man of the match after a solid performance in the middle of the park in a draw with Vipers.
The former Express JT Midfielder picked his second accolade of the season after his first against Mbarara City in the rescheduled match at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.
Paul Mucureezi second half freekick cancelled out Ivan Ahimbisibwe first half goal from the spot at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.
Okello says they deserved to win the game but a point is not a bad result against leaders.
“We played well and deserved to win but still we thank God for the point so we shall shift our focus on the next fixture,” Okello states.
Since joining UPDF from Somalia’s Raadsan at the beginning of the season, Okello has been one of the most consistent players for the Army side.
“I am hardworking because I always do extra training that’s why my performance has been consistent since I joined.
“Of course I feel very happy to be recognised and named man of the match so it makes me work more harder.”
UPDF are now winless in nine consecutive league matches, Okello didn’t hesitate to apologise to the fans for the poor run of results.
“We are sorry for the negative results but we shall bounce back to winning ways as soon as possible.”
Just like any other player, Okello also dreams of playing for the national team and playing professional football abroad.
