National Cricket League: Wanderers Off The Mark

Sunday, February 20
•SKLPS – 77/10 (31.1/50 ov)
•Wanderers – 78/5 (17.4/50 ov)
*Wanderers won by 5 wickets

Wanderers pummeled SKLPS on their way to a comfortable five-wicket victory in the opening match of the Men’s 50 Over National Cricket League at the Lakeside Oval in Entebbe on Sunday.

But the win was built on impressive bowling that saw SKLPS all out as they were limited to a lowly 77 in 31 overs.

Tembo Zubair and Ivan Kakande had a field day, picking four and three wickets respectively, in a game SKLPS lost their first three men for ducks!

Yogesh Rabadiya (36) tried to forge sanity for SKLPS but he failed to find a good partnership before he was bowled LBW by Tembo.

Chasing an easy target, captain Abu Seguya scored a patient half ton off 48 balls in a sounding victory.

And Wanderers reached the set total with about 32 Overs to spare, to get their National League campaign off to a strong note.

Wanderers will return to action against ACC on March 6 in Kyambogo while SKLPS will hope to make amends against newcomers Challengers in Entebbe on March 13.
