Kampala Queens forward Margret Kunihira expressed her delight upon scoring her first goal at her new side.
Kunihira scored the only goal as Kampala Queens egded She Maroons 1-0 in a Fufa Women Super league game held at Luzira Prisons on Sunday.
“I feel so happy and excited because it’s my first time to score in this league. Since we started playing we had never got any and it’s our first time to win,” she told the pressmen after the game.
It was Kampala Queens’ first win in this season as they had only picked one point in the opening two games. They were beaten by Kawempe Muslim in their opener before drawing goalless with Tooro Queens in their second.
For Kunihira who was playing her second game at the club, she put up a spirited performance and it paid off with a goal in the 58th minute.
Up next for Kampala Queens will be a home game against Uganda Martyrs Lubaga and the winger says they will take the same spirit to the next task.
“In the next game we shall work together as a team so that we can get more three points.”
Victory ensured that Kampala Queens moved to the fifth place with 4 points after three games so far.
With more games coming up, Kunihira will be hoping that she continues helping her side as they keep eyes on the big prize.
