Rines SS 0-0 She Corporates
UCU Lady Cardinals 5-0 Lady Doves
Newbies Rines held She Corporates to a goalless draw in their women Super league matchday 3 fixture played at Kabaka Kyabagu Stadium, Wakiso.
These are the first points dropped by Nakawa based side who came into the game on the back of two opening wins.
Rines on the other hand, are yet to register a win in their three opening games played so far.
Despite an exciting encounter both sides failed to create clear chances as most of the ball was played in the middle of the park.
The visitors who had most of the ball possession only saw their one half chance landing to Grace Nasongo who just skied away her close shot.
Amina Nababi and Eva Nagayi could have put Rines into the lead but directed their freekicks straight to Daphine Nayenga’s safe hands.
Second half saw a different lively display where the visitors took full control of the entire proceeding as hosts subjected to receiving end with critical defending.
In the 55th minute Captain Nagadya missed an open chance when she selfishly decided to use a tight to pass her shot instead of open space, which saw her attempt going few inches begging.
Nagayi came close to scoring again, when she missed an empty net after dribbling past goalkeeper Wekoye, but her finish lacked enough power when it was blocked by Shakirah Nalule.
Goalkeeper Wekoye was made the busiest player on the pitch before being stretchered off injured in collision in attempt to save Phiona Nabumba’s teasing freekick.
Wekoye denied Favour Nambatya’s 16 yard range attempt when she parried it out into a corner before Nagayi missing a free header over Suzan Atim’s cross.
Coach Enock received marching orders off the touchline in attempt to protest an offiside call waved against Nambatya who had a goalkeeper to beat.
Unmarked Atim which was in a very clear scoring position with all the time needed, wasted another chance in dying minutes of the game when shot over the bar to deny her side a well deserved goal and win.
The result means that She Corporates dropped to second position on the log with 7 points following UCU Lady’s win against lady Doves, they will host Lady Doves in their next fixture, next Saturday
Rines are in 7th place with just two points and they will visit Kawempe Muslim in thier next fixture.
