Oketch Strikes Late As BUL Deny Arua Hill

Second half substitute Simon Peter Oketch scored late in the game as BUL FC picked a vital point off Arua Hill in a league game held at Barifa Stadium in Arua.

Oketch scored in the 87th minute to salvage a point for the visitors.

Karim Ndugwa put BUL in the lead but Ssekamate Samuel and Gaddafi Wahab put Arua Hill ahead before half time.

Playing away from home, BUL scored first in the 16th minute, through Ndugwa who benefited from Martin Aprem’s pass.

Despite going a goal down, the hosts remained composed and they levelled matters in the 27th minute through Ssekamate, who scored from a well taken free kick.

At the stroke of half time, Wahab made it two to put his ahead before the break.

However , Arua Hill had more chances to score more before the interval but Wahab saw his free kick go inches wide before Rashid Toha headed wide off Wahab’s well delivered cross.

At the restart of the second half, Bul returned a more rejuvenated side and would have scored their second in the 51st minute only for Richard Wandyaka’s to be denied by Arua Hill goalkeeper Eric Kibowa.

Once again, Arua Hill had chances but Steven Kabuye and Ivan Eyamu looked blunt on two occasions when infront of the goal.

Despite being two goals down, the visitors remained composed throughout and waited for their moment.

And with three minutes to play, off the bench, Oketch levelled matters from the spot after Karim Ndugwa was fouled in the forbidden area.

The result ensured that Bul FC avoided defeat in Arua for the first time. They now move to 30 points but remain in the 4th place after 18 games.

For Arua Hill, they as well remain in the 6th position with 29 points collected from 18 games so far.

What Next- In the League, Bul FC will host UPDF on 1st March while Arua Hill welcome Wakiso Giants the following at Barifa Stadium.
