Maroons FC hosts Proline FC in their FUFA Big league fixture at Luzira in what promises to be a pulsating encounter.
The Hosts are coming into this one at the back of a hard fought 2-1 away win against Calvary FC in their last encounter in Arua and they will be looking forward to back it up with another win at home.
Maroons can go top of the log if leaders Blacks Power fail MYDA FC test.
They sit second on a very tight log with 19 points, two points adrift of leaders and three points above 6th place Calvary!
The Prison Warders are yet to lose a single game at home, they have won thrice and drawn twice in matches at home.
They will be missing midfielder Yahaya Luuti who was taken out with concussion in their last game against calvary FC.
Maroons head coach Muhammed Senfuma is confident that the available squad will get the job perfectly done because they are well prepared.
“We are well prepared in general, the boys are in good shape even though there are some who are have injuries, but all in all we are set to win the game being the fact that we are even home, with fans at our side,” Ssenfuma said.
“We respect Proline but we are going to beat them because we need these three points, because we can even go at the top of the if we win.”
They will be looking to complete a league double against Proline following a 1-0 win at Lugogo in the first fixture in November last year.
The victors on the hand, are coming into the game on the back of a hard fought 1-0 home win against bottom placed struggling Nyamityobora in their last encounter, which was their first in six matches and their first in 2022.
The 2019 Uganda Cup champions will need to produce their best performance to overcome fellow former UPL occupants Maroons, who is unbeaten home.
However, the 2019 country’s confederation cup representatives, have only won two wins in the five-outings of first round.
They are current 8th on the log, with 13 points from 11 games.
