BUL FC beat Wakiso Giants 2-0 in the Uganda Premier League match played at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe Stadium to climb up to 4th on the log.
Richard Wandyaka’s first half strike in the 16th minute and substitute Peter Oketch strike was the difference as BUL registered its first win of 2022.
BUL who started the day in 7th, ends Matchday-17 in fourth with 29 points after 17 games.
This is an improved tally for BUL who ended last season in 11th with 33 points in 27 games.
The hosts dominated proceedings right way enjoying most of the ball possession and in just 16minute, Wandyaka found the back of the net with a beauty off Richard Ayiko brilliant effort.
Just after the goal, Karim Ndugwa and Martin Aprem had clear chances to double the lead before halftime but their shots were not good enough to find Samson Kirya’s net.
The second half was just a replica of the first, however the visitor stepped up the pressure but the hosts meant more business.
Alex Gitta made a double substitution hoping for change in play, but Sam Senyonjo and Richard Lubwana who replaced Tom Masiko and Grant Matsko could not find a way past resilient hosts.
In the three added minutes of the game, Oketch sealed the win with another beauty off Umar Mukombe’s effort, to hand BUL its first win in four games.
The Eastern giants will visit Arua Hill in their next fixture.
Wakiso drops down to 7th, stuck on 27 points and will host URA in their next fixture.
