Vipers SC youngster Najib Yiga wants to score more in the upcoming games of the season.
Yiga, who scored a brace as Vipers beat Bul FC 3-1 at Kyabazinga Stadium in Bugembe made the remarks upon receiving his man of the match prize.
“First of all I thank the almighty God for the win today, my club and the coaches at large. As an individual, am so grateful and excited deep inside me for this achievement,” he told the pressmen.
It was a spirited performance for Yiga, who was starting his second game in this ongoing Uganda Premier league season.
He scored in the 24th and 33rd minutes to complete his brace, putting his side ahead before the interval before Yunus Sentamu sealed it in the 89th minute with the third on the day as the Venoms picked maximum points away from home.
” Yes It’s my second game to Start in the season, so I feel so proud and excited for helping my team win and I want to keep improving .”
Victory ensured that Vipers SC maintained the top spot and are now on 36 points, one above second placed KCCA FC who won their game against URA on Wednesday.
Up next for Venoms is a home game against Arua Hill on Saturday this week at St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.
With the next task fast approaching, Yiga will be hoping that he can maintain his place in the Starting team so as to keep helping the Kitende based side.
