Kampala Queens Vs Kawempe Muslim
IUIU Kabojja Play Grounds
Kampala Queens will hope to begin their new FUFA Women Super League season on a positive note as they host Kawempe Muslim at IUIU Kabojja Play grounds on Wednesday.
The 2021/22 Women Super League got underway this week on Sunday and it will be played on a home and away basis this time round.
While speaking ahead of their first home game, new Kampala Queens head coach Hamza Lutalo is hopeful that they will earn a perfect Start.
“I am new in women football but I always do my part. If they follow my instructions, we shall win the game. It’s my first time to train girls, they are good players I try to teach them what I know and I hope we shall put a good fight,” Lutalo said.

New signing Shamirah Nalugya is ready to hit the ground: “First of all I thank the coaches of Kawempe Muslim and staff, they helped me as a player to be where I am today. Right now am a player for Kampala Queens, yes it’s going to be a big game but I hope for better results.”
As they seek to boost their young squad, the Queens made two new Signings of midfielder Shamirah Nalugya from Isra academy and Zaitun Namaganda and they are expected to mark their debuts.
They are set to welcome back Captain Fauzia Najjemba, Lilian Mutuzo and Joan Namusisi who have been with the U20 team in Ghana.
In the last championship, Kampala Queens didn’t reach the knock out stages – they finished third in group one despite beating Makerere University 2-1 in their last group game.
On the other hand, Kawempe Muslim, the most decorated side in Uganda Women Football, will be targeting a strong start into this year’s league.
Last year, they were knocked out at the Semi finals by eventual Champions Lady Doves in a league held in a tournament format at Njeru last year.
Speaking ahead of the game, Ayub Khalifa head coach Kawempe Muslim is optimistic they will get the needed result despite the fatigue of his players.
“We are prepared for the game, yes we have not been together, a number of my players have been on the U20 team but that won’t stop us from winning tomorrow. Some of the girls have fatigue from that long journey from Ghana but I know they will give me the best,” he told the pressmen.
Kawempe Muslim will bank on their rich history if they are to get a better result away from home.
Currently, She Corporates are table leaders with 3 points after one game played in this new FUFA Women Super league.
