BUL FC 1-3 Vipers – Kakindu
KCCA FC 1-0 URA FC – Lugogo
Patrick Henry Kaddu scored on his return to Lugogo as KCCA FC finally managed to break URA FC in jinx and keep pressure on leaders Vipers SC.
KCCA FC remain a point below Vipers who beat BUL in an early kick off game, but have stretched their lead against third placed URA FC to six points.
Its the first win for KCCA FC against URA FC in seven league games! Morley Byekwaso’s side lost the first round meeting and were beaten home and away last season by the Tax Collectors.
A dominant first half from the hosts saw the side took an early lead through Kaddu.
The striker grabbed his first goal of the season with a point blank header from Mato Rodgers after a long throw in brought in by Filbert Obenchan in the 2nd minute.
KCCA FC kept on pilling pressure on URA FC but a shot from Mato was parried away for a corner by Nafian Alionzi in the 10th minute of the game.
Kaddu was denied his second on the day by goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi who made a timely tackle to block a shot after the striker was set up for a one on one by Mato in the 40th minute.
The visitors had little to offer in the first stanza but improved thereafter, but couldn’t manage to beat goalkeeper Banjamin Ochan in goal.
KCCA FC had a glorious chance to double their lead but Alionzi was on spot as he denied Kaddu from close range in the 72nd minute of the game.
Substitute Charles Lwanga also missed a close range header as he only managed to head above the bar.
The Kasasiro boys now move to 34 points in the second place.
The tax collectors remain 3rd on the log with 28 points despite losing against KCCA FC.
What Next
KCCA will now take along trip to the western part of Uganda as they visit Mbarara City on valentines day eve.
The tax collectors will host Gaddafi ay the arena of visions on the 12th of February.
