She Corporates earned a perfect Start into this year’s FUFA Women Super League after their 2-0 win over Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga in their opener on Sunday.
First half goals from from Nasango Grace and Favour Nambatya were enough as the Sharks bagged all the three points in their first home game of the season.
In the opening exchanges, Uganda Martyrs were the better side, dominated play as the hosts sat at the back to catch them at the break.
However despite their dominance, they failed to create a clear cut chance against a well organized She Corporates defence.
The hosts finally settled into the game, started opening up and they got their first goal in the 16th minute through Nasango, who benefited from a poor clearance from Uganda Martyrs defence to bundle home the opener.
At the stroke of half time ,the Visitors will feel unlucky after Brenda Munyana missed from the spot to sum up a frustrating first half for Rogers Nkugwa’s side.
Having missed on the other end, She Corporates made a beautiful counter attack and it paid off when Nambatya headed in home off a well delivered cross from Nasango to put her side in a comfortable 2-goal lead before the break.
At the restart of the Second half, the Visitors who were two goals down returned the better side in a bid to get back into the game.
She Corporates will have left back Ibunyu Mariam to thank after she made a timely clearance to deny the visitors in the 47th minute.
There on, She Corporates, who were already two goals ahead maintained their lead to pick all the three important points at the Start of the season.
For Uganda Martyrs, they suffer the first loss in the season and they will have to pick themselves to prepare for the next task next week.
What Next – She Corporates will host Kawempe Muslim on Sunday 13th February at Mubs arena while Uganda Martyrs will be away to Lady Doves a day before.
