Women Super League Preview: Can She Corporates Go An Extra Mile?

She Corporates WFC Captain Cissy Nantongo says they are ready to give their all ahead of the new FUFA Women Super League season.

After a long period without action, the Women Super League returns this Sunday on February 6th and many teams will be in action at different venues.

While speaking to The-SportsNation, Nantongo expressed the team’s readiness ahead of their opener on Sunday.

“We have been training the whole month of January and we feel we are set for the new season, Yes we had a break in december but we returned to training at the started of last month, she said.”

Last season, She Corporates failed to get past the group Stages finishing third in group B that had UCU, eventual Champions Lady Doves, Olila High school and Isra Soccer academy.

Having had a poor run last edition, Nantongo says they have all eyes on the big prize given their preparations.

“First of all, we as players we want to win this year’s trophy, its been long so we feel it’s now our time to achieve this . All players are in good shape and are ready to give 100%.”

In their first game of the season, the Sharks will welcome Uganda Martrys High school at the Mubs arena in nakawa on Sunday.

Ahead of the opener, Nantongo has called upon all their fans to come and cheer up the girls as the new season gets underway.

“We call upon our fans to come and support us, we promise we are going to deliver. We also promise our technical team led by Mr. Kawere that we are here to win more games”

As they seek to boost their squad, the club is reported to have landed U20 goalkeeper Daphine Nyayenga and she is expected to replace Vanessa Karungi, who departed for Danish side Boldklubben AF. The club also lost defender Bridget Nabisaalu, who joined UCU lady Cardinals recently.

Against Uganda Martyrs High School, the Sharks will be hoping that they can get off the mark given the fact that they will be having their first home game.
