Preview: Wakiso Giants Target Revenge Against Gaddafi

Wakiso Giants and Gaddafi in the first round

Gaddafi FC is one of the three teams that picked maximum points off Wakiso Giants since Alex Gitta replaced Douglas Bamweyana at the helm.

The Soldier Boys beat Wakiso Giants 1-0, with Yunus Sibira scoring late on in the added minutes at Gaddafi Arena in Jinja.

It was a harsh result for the Purple Sharks whose efforts on the day deserved to be rewarded with at least a point, but the loss was another reminder of what happens even if you lose concentration by just one half of a second.

Starting the second round, Wakiso Giants have not forgotten that result, as it was also their last game in the first round.

Coach Gitta, as quoted by the club media, emphasised on the team’s target to win all their games at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakishha.

He stated: We lost the reverse fixture in the last minutes against them and we don’t expect it easy. But one of our objectives is to win all home games starting with the one against Gaddafi and we shall do all it takes to take all points.”

Wakiso Giants, sitting in seventh, are a place and three points above visiting Gaddafi as the second round of the league gets underway in a lunchtime kickoff affair.

Ahead of the game, coach Peter Onen said that he is aware that Wakiso Giants will be going for revenge because of what happened in the first round but his side is ready and well prepared.

Gaddafi’s only two losses away from home came against KCCA FC and Wakiso Giants!
