Cameroon coach Antonio Conceicao says that they have positive pressure going into their semifinal clash with Egypt.
The hosts are under pressure to perform but will need to double their efforts if they are to knock out Egypt who have won the AFCON title a record seven times.
Hosts Cameroon will go all out to give their fans at Olembe and across the country a night to remember as they target to book a date with Senegal in Sunday’s final.
“Our goal is clear; to play a good game and go to the final. We will play against a very good team, Egypt, the most successful team in Africa. They have very good players, including one of the best in the world, namely Mohamed Salah,” Conceicao is quoted by CAF.
“My players are motivated to win. We have positive pressure, but our pbjective is clear, to win the title for the Cameroonian people.”
The Indomitable Lions will bank on Vicent Abubaker and Karl Toko Ekambi who are on six and five goals respectively.
Cameroon who topped Group A, will be facing their toughest challenge so far in the competition having passed through Comoros and Gambia in the knockout.
Egypt coach Carlos Queiroz has expressed the readiness of his side for the tie.
“To reach the semifinals is a reward for us. Facing hosts Cameroon is tough as they play very good football. We want to offer the world a pleasant match between two great African teams. We are ready for this semifinal,” Quieroz said.
“It is true that we have played two consecutive matches with extra-time, but we remain ready to play a very good match. We have the right team for this kind of games.”
They beat Ivory Coast and Morocco in the knockout having come second in Group D that was topped by Nigeria.
