I Want More Playing Time – Raymond Onyai On Leaving Mbarara City

Former Uganda Hippos forward Derrick Raymond Onyai says that he wants more playing time after he was released by Mbarara City on mutual grounds.

Onyai who had six months remaining on the contract, joined Mbarara in January 2019 from Big league side Kataka FC where he has returned to a short term open contract.

Speaking to The-SportsNation, the former KCCA academy graduate said that the decision to return to Kataka was an easy one to make.

He has also vowed to help Big League side Kataka earn a place in Uganda Premier League next season.

“The truth is that I have been lacking playing time at Mbarara City,” Onyai said.

“There are games I could play well and the next game I am not picked. This really affected me but I believe in myself that I can do better.”

“But we agreed that anytime I get a good deal I am free to move, that’s why I signed a short term, I am going to work harder during my short stay.”

Onyai went to Kololo primary School, Buddo ss and finished at Amus College where he was scouted into KCCA FC academy before joining Kataka in 2016.
