•Nsambya SC Vs Kyetume FC – Lugogo (1pm)
•Express FC Vs PCCP FC – 4pm
There is no room for error for Express FC who start their Stanbic Uganda Cup journey against fourth division side PCCP FC on Friday at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.
The two sides who will be meeting for the first time will face off at the round of 64 as the 48th edition of the Uganda Cup continues.
Speaking ahead of the game, Express FC head coach Wasswa Bbosa says their target is to advance to the next stage.
“We’ve prepared well ahead of the game, our target is to simply advance to the round of 32,” said Bbosa.
“I must say this break has allowed us to correct our mistakes and also allow most of our injured players to return to full fitness like our assistant captain Abel Etrude, we shall approach the game with all the respect PCCP FC deserves but we shall win.”
On Friday against PCCP, Express will be without team captain Enock Walusimbi and Martin Kizza who are on national team duties. Godfrey Lwesibawa is the other player who will miss out due to injury.
The good news for the Red Eagles is the return of assistant Captain Abel Eturude from a long injury layoff while left back Arthur Kiggundu will need a late fitness test if he is to take part.
Last season, the Red Eagles were eliminated by BUL FC at the semi final stage in a game held at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru.
Having had enough to prepare for this game due to the league break, Wasswa Bbosa’s men will all go out in search for a bright start into this year’s competition.
