Muzamir Ssemuddu has expressed readiness ahead of his much anticipated fight with John Owino as the Uganda Boxing Champions League returns with round five at the Indoor Stadium, Lugogo.
Ssemuddu has his work cut out against an experienced and taller Owino in the light middle weight category, but the Kololo fighter is unfazed.
“I am going to beat that Mzee (Owino), I want to show him that we have also developed in the game,” Ssemudde roared.
“I have done enough preparations with my coaches and I am ready to battle him down.”
This will be Ssemuddu’s second fight in the ongoing Champions League having lost to Richard Kasujja in week one.
Owino on the other hand, edged Zebra Ssenyange Junior in a closely contested fight to win on debut.
Owino calmly stated: “People say that I am Old but to me that’s a blessing. I am going to punch him down!”
Owino’s coach at UPDF Boxing club coach Tonny Ssekabira defended his fighter: “Owino is not old but the experience he has in the ring and the punches he throws it’s why people call him old.”
There are two Women fights on the night as Nakalema Emily returns in the ring against Apio Vivian and the big one will be Nali Jalia facing off with Nakimuli Teddy.
