Uganda Premier league side SC Villa is set to acquire defender Bernard ‘Coulibaly’ Agele, The SportsNation sources have learnt.
It has been understood that both parties – Player and the club – have been in negotiations to see that the deal gets done in the coming days.
Agele, born in Uganda to South Sudanese parents, has been a free agent ever since ending his spell at Malaysian second tier side Universiti Teknologi Mara (Uitm) FC, a side he had joined in January 2019.
The rock solid center half is expected to be a big addition to a youthful Villa side given his past experience in the Uganda Premier league.
He was part of Express FC team that won the 2012 Uganda premier league title. In 2013, Agele was also a member of SC Victoria University that won the Uganda Cup trophy.
In Uganda, the South Sudan national team defender has previously featured for Express FC, SC Victoria University (now defunct) and Paidha Black Angels.
After 14 games this season, Villa are currently sitted 11 th on the UPL log with only 16 points.
As they seek to boost their squad ahead of the second round, Villa has being linked with a number of proven players as they target to revive their season.
Reports have it that former KCCA FC Midfielder Sadam Juma has already crossed to the Joggos and they are expected to add in more players in the coming days.
