Goals from Yasin Sabir, Mugisha Rogers and Philip Angello Taban inspired Uganda Premier League side UPDF to a comfortable 3-0 victory as they eliminated North East Regional League side Soroti FC in Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Sabir gave the visitors the lead before Mugisha Rogers doubled the advantage in the first half.
Philip Angello later sealed the win in the second stanza to ensure UPDF roll to the next round.
The Army side’s winless run of six matches comes to an end with the victory in the Uganda Cup.
As expected, Brian Ssenyondo side didn’t take this game for granted as it is a confidence booster for the Bombo based side after a poor run of form in the league.
UPDF FC join KCCA, URA, Wakiso Giants, Busoga United, Gadaffi FC, Onduparaka, Mbarara City, Soltillo Bright Stars, Maroons, Ndejje University, Kajjansi United, Ateker FC and Booma United into the Round of 32.
