Arua Hill hold Police FC At Lugogo

Sunday January 9th
Police 0-0 Arua Hill
Mbarara City 1-1 Busoga United

Police FC and Arua Hill played out a goalless draw in a league game held at the Omondi Stadium in Lugogo on Sunday evening.

The Cops who had won four out four in their last league games failed to live to their best against a well organized Arua Hill side.

Coached by Livingstone Mbabazi, Arua Hill denied Police FC to play their style as it is always the case of passing the ball while at the turf grounds in Lugogo.

The Visitors, who dorminated the opening exchanges had chances to score before half time but missed a couple.

Left back Richard Matovu saw his free kick parried away by goalkeeper Tom Ikara, Allan Mugalu headed wide off a well delivered cross from Matovu before Ssekamate saw his powerful shot parried away for a corner.

For the hosts, they barely threatened Arua Hill goalkeeper Richard Andama and it revelead that they had more work to do in the last 45 minutes.

At the restart of the second half, Police came back a rejuvenated, better than how they were in the first stanza.

They lanched various attacks but failed on many occasions to convert the few available chances against a well organized Arua Hill defence.

Juma Balinya who was impressive in the Second half saw his powerful effort outside the area parried away by Anyama for a corner, Muwada Mawejje headed wide off Ruben Kimera perfect cross before Emmanuel Mugume saw his header go wide off Mawejje’s cross.

The visitors as well had two good chances to score but Ssekamate missed with just a seater off a well laid pass from left back Matovu before Leku shot wide when inside the area, summing up a frustrating day for both teams.

The result saw Police move to 16 points and they finish the first round in the 11th Position after 15 games (W4, D4, L7).

For Arua Hill who are in their maiden top flight experience, they move to 25 points but remain in the 5th position collected from 15 games as well ( W7, D4, L4).
