Police FC hold on To Overcome UPDF in Bombo

Substitute Emmanuel Mugume scored the all important goal in the second half as Police best UPDF at the Bombo Military Barracks Ground.

The result extends Police FC’s resugency having obtained their fourth straight win of the season!

First chance of the game saw Musa Mudde cross hit the post before James Begesa attempted cross also hit the woodwork as UPDF searched for the opener.

Kyeline Medi and Huud Salim could have put the hosts in-front but they both went for power and ballooned the ball wide.

Police FC through Brian Mululi curler hit the woodwork after beating Simon Mbazira before Samuel Kayongo wasted a glorious chance after beating the Goalkeeper.

An entertaining first half saw both teams fail to break the deadlock.

Substitute Emmanuel Mugume finally broke the deadlock for the visitors after a nice teasing ball from Brian Mululi in the 56th minute.

Police FC dropped back to defend their lead as UPDF FC knocked on the door for the equaliser but in vain.

UPDF last chance of the game was easily saved by Goalkeeper Tom Ikara from a Musa Mudde freekick.

UPDF have now lost four games in five games, and winless during that spell that include a 1-1 draw with BUL.

UPDF are 9th with 18 points in 14 matches while Police FC are 11th with 15 points.

What next

UPDF will travel away to SC Villa at the FUFA Technical Centre Njeru on Tuesday, 8th for their last game of the first round while Police Host Arua Hill in Lugogo on Wednesday 9th.
