Express Hands Busoga United Seventh Straight Loss

Express FC eased past Busoga United in a league game at Wankulukuku to climb into fourth place on the log.

Eric Kambale scored a brace, George Ssenkaaba and Mahad Yaya Kakooza added one each in the in a one-sided affair.

Ssenkaaba set the tone when he freed himself from Peter Onzima before firing in with a left foot in the 23rd minute.

Kambale quickly doubled the advantage a minute after with another powerful strike. The Congolese forward was set by Martin Kizza just out side the box to send his effort into the top corner.

Kambale grabbed his second, and the third for Express, in the 41st minute from the spot. He was pulled down in the area by Fredrick Ngalo as he attempted a bicycle kick for referee Henry Byaruhanga to point on the spot. And Kambale calmly sent goalkeeper Michael Nantamu the wrong way.

Kakooza scored a solo effort to put the icing on the cake. The midfielder strolled through the Busoga United defence before sailing his low effort past Nantamu in added minutes.

The win takes Express to fourth place with 23 points, leapfrogging Arua Hill who lost to BUL FC in Bugembe.

Busoga United remain second from the bottom with seven points after 12 games.

Red Eagles Prove Too Good

Express attackers overwhelmed Busoga United from the word go and they could have won by a better margin on the day.

Winger Kizza missed a couple; he raced on a long ball but his first time effort went over the bar early in the game. He later missed a keeper-to-beat, headed onto the crossbar and later saw his freekick kept out by keeper Michael Nantamu.

Ssenkaaba skewed wide with a goal at his mercy after a neat pass from Kambale and he also had a goal ruled out for offside in the second half.

Busoga United had no answers to Express questions but greatly improved in the second half.

However, despite good build up plays, they looked clueless everytime they reached into the final third.

Fred Lumu was on the touchline as Busoga United continued to miss out on coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko who is bedridden

It’s a huge mountain to climb for Busoga United who ends a year on a wrong note and there less signs to show that they can mount a challenge in games to come.

What Next – Express FC will be away to Tooro United on January 4 in Buhinga next year while Busoga United welcome Onduparaka at Njeru the following day.
