Arua Hill Assistant Coach Sadiq Sempigi said that they deserved to win the match after a 2-1 victory over UPDF in the league game at Barifa Stadium.
Gadafi Wahab scored from the freekick in the 11th to give Arua Hill the lead before Ivan Ahimbisibwe equalised for UPDF six minutes later, in the 67th minute.
Substitute Rashid Kawawa restored the host’s lead with his first touch of the game after coming on for Ivan Eyam.
“Every game comes with different strategies, the selection today (Saturday) depended on the game,” Sempigi said.
“UPDF is a very good team but we were supposed to fight hard to get a better result, we started well in the first half and in the first 20 minutes we managed to get a goal though we relaxed in defending and they equalised.
“But we managed the game by the end of halftime and we went back to the dressing room where we asked the boys to lift up their attitude and we saw the impact in the second half when they reacted well and we scored and got the 3 points.”
Arua Hill leapfrog UPDF in the 6th on the log with 18 points.
“UPDF have been ahead of us, we were supposed to fight to get the maximum points and indeed we performed to the best to get the 3 points which moves us to the 6th position ahead of them.”
Arua Hill next game will be on Wednesday 22nd away to Wakiso Giants at the Wakissha stadium.
