Preview: Both Teams Seeking to Return to Winning Ways

Onduparaka and URA will all target maximum points in their quest to return to winning ways when they meet in Arua.

Onduparaka squandered a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 to Mbarara City in Kakyeka while URA played out a goalless draw with Express in Ndejje in their last game.

Coming into this game, Onduparaka are 11th on the log with 10 points after 2 wins and 4 draws.

URA are 8th with 13 points having collected 3 wins, 4 draws and one loss.

Onduparaka have won only one game against Police FC in their last 5 matches losing to Villa and Mbarara City while drawing with Wakiso Giants and Express.

URA are unbeaten in their last 5 games winning two against Vipers and Tooro United while drawing three on the bounce with Express, Villa and Police.

Onduparaka are winless in their last 4 games while URA have not won any in their last 3 games.

Onduparaka Head Coach George Lutalo says they have prepared well and they hope to have a good game.

“We have prepared ourselves well and we hope to have a good game,” Lutalo stated.

“We are trying our best to be strong from the beginning of the game up to the last minutes of the game.”

Onduparaka Captain Muhammad Shaban who has scored 3 goals so far says they know URA well and they are ready for them.

“Scoring 3 goals in 9 matches is not good at all but it’s not all that bad because am just coming back,” he said.

“The 3 goals I have scored of course have encouraged me to score more because as a striker I have score more left.

“Of course we have played URA so many times in the friendlies and we know were their strong points are and their weaknesses so we are ready for them.

“The coaches have been doing more than enough to prepare us for the game.”

The last time they met last season, URA won home and away, 3-1 winners with a brace from Shafik Kagimu and Steven Mukwala while Madhi Ajobe scored for visitors Onduparaka.

The first round in Arua ended 3-0 in favour of the tax collectors – A brace from Steven Mukwala and a goal from Rwothomio Cromwel.


This will be the 10th meeting between the two sides.
