Bugerere Ssaza registered their first win in the ongoing Masaza Cup tournament after their 4-1 win over Buvuma on Friday.
A goal each from Mark Ssali, Bbosa Ibrahim, (penalty,) Moses Buga and Clinton Assiimwe ensured that Bugerere picked maximum points to join the Qualification contest.
Henry Brian Katamba scored the only goal for Buvuma as they lost their second game of this competition to end their Qualification chances.
Coming into this contest, Bugerere had lost 2-1 to Busiro in their opener on Wednesday, but did just enough and earned a well deserved victory against Islanders Buvuma.
Having lost their second in row, Buvuma who had lost to Kyaggwe in their opener are now out of this year’s edition as they can not get past the group Stages given the fact that they have no point, with just one game to left.
Meanwhile in the other game of the day, Busiro and Kyaggwe played to a goalless draw as nothing could separate the two sides after normal time.
Following the barren Stalemate, Busiro head coach Simon Ddungu was delighted with the point on the day and is hopeful they will pick up three points in the last group game.
“It’s not a bad point since we now move to four points and we shall prepare four last game so that we can get maximum points, he said after the game.”
Saturday and Sunday are rest days with action returning on Monday. Buvuma will take on Bugerere will take on Kyaggwe in the first of the day at noon while Busiro will be up against Buvuma later in the evening.
Much will be at stake heading into the final matches as Busiro, Kyaggwe and Bugerere all have a chance of storming the quarter finals on the last day.
