Buluuli stormed the Quarter finals of this year’s Masaza Cup tournament following their 2-1 victory over Kyadondo on Monday evening at Njeru.
Goals from Derrick Kaija and Lawrence Kakande (penalty) ensured that the 2011 winners booked a place into the next stage.
Kenneth Kimera scored the only goal for Kyadondo as they bowed out of this year’s competition.
Earlier on in the day, Ssingo had taken care of defending Champions Gomba by 2-0, becoming the first team in the Masengere group to book a place to the next stage.
Coming into this tie, Buluuli were table Leaders on five points after Kyadondo were docked three points and goals for fielding un authorised player in Kibumba Kasirye. As a result, both teams were in a must win situation, but Buluuli did just enough to get the job done.
They scored first through Kaija to earn a dream start in the 39th minute before Kimera levelled matters at the stroke of half time with a well taken free kick.
In the second stanza, Buluuli regained their lead in the 59th through Kakande who scored from the spot and his goal later turned to be the winner for his side.
Buluuli now finish as group leaders with eight points after four games played, two points below second placed Ssingo who also progressed to the next stage of this competition.
Up next will be the Muganzirwaza group and teams are expected to start reporting on Tuesday this week with action kick starting on Wednesday.
