Kyadondo overcame Kabula to win 3-2 on Saturday and move top of the Masengere group in the ongoing Masaza Cup tournament that is being held at Njeru.
Coming into this contest, Kyadondo had collected four points from the opening two games. They beat defending Champions Gomba 2-0 in the opener before drawing 2-2 with Ssingo on Monday this week.
On Saturday against Kabula that has had a poor tournament, Kyadondo did just enough to get the job done.
A brace from Kimera Kenneth and one goal from Kibumba Kasirye ensured that Anthony Ssekito’s charges picked the vital three points on the day.
Masud Dod Mele and Abdarah Mazinga scored the two goals for Kabula as they lost their third game to bow out of this year’s tournament.
Victory ensured that Kyadondo moved to seven points and they storm the summit of the Masengere group after three games played.
And now with seven points, Kyadondo will just need any positive result in their last game against Buluuli on Monday to seal a place in the Quarter finals.
For Kabula, their journey in this year’s tournament comes to an end given the fact that this was their last group game and they finish rock bottom of the Masengere group with just one point.
On the other hand, Ssingo scored late to deny Buluuli maximum points in the first game of the day. Off the bench, Fahad Nsuki struck in added time as Ssingo picked their third point in three games. Mike Kayongo and Cyrus Mukalazi had earlier on scored the other two goals for Ssingo.
Congolese international John Paul Ndembe, Johnson Ssenyonga and Lawrence Kakande scored the three goals for Buluuli as they dropped a chance for qualifying to the next stage.
