Late Emmanuel Oketch Strike Sinks 10-man Police

Saturday, November 20
*Onduparaka 1-0 Police
*Express 0-0 SC Villa

Emmanuel Oketch scored a 98th-minute winner to help Onduparaka pile more misery on 10-man winless Police at Greenlight Stadium in Arua.

Police head Coach Abdallah Mubiru and Midfielder Yusuf Ssozi were sent off in the first half.

And Police, who played the whole second half with a man down, were on course for their first point of the season before Oketch bundled home in an eventful affair.

In a hotly contested affair, there were ugly scenes as Police FC officials showed their discontent with the day’s officiating after the final whistle.

The Peace Keepers have lost all their six games to remain rooted on the 16-team log.

Onduparaka almost scored early in the game when Yakin Rashid released Gabriel Matata only for the forward to shoot off the target.

Matata then thought he had given the Caterpillars the lead but his goal was ruled out for offside while Jarieko James also fluffed a late chance.

Police coach Mubiru was given marching orders for his altercation on the touchline midway through the first half while Ssozi received a straight red card for his dangerous foul on Ahmed Amayo in the 42nd minute.

Onduparaka sits 8th on the log with 8 points in 6 matches while Police FC are 16th bottom of the standing without a point.

What next for both sides – Both sides will return to action on Friday 26th, Onduparaka will visits SC Villa at Kavumba Recreation Ground while Police FC will host Mbarara City at the MTN Omondi Stadium Lugogo.
