Preview: Bright Stars Start new life after Baker Mbowa
Bright Stars will start a new life without former head coach Baker Mbowa when they visit Busoga United on Friday.
Earlier on Last week, the club parted ways with Mbowa following the poor start into the new season. They had lost three games and picked just one point (a draw with KCCA FC) in their opening four games of the season.
Thereafter, the club confirmed his assistant Simon Mugwerwa as the interim coach and he will be having his first test on Friday against Busoga United.
“The fans should expect our first win of the season we have that confidence that we are going to play a good game, score goals. We are going to go all out to attack Busoga so that we get the three points so that we can build on that,” Mugwerwa said ahead of the game.
He added: “I just take it as an opportunity that I’m going to serve this club for the first game and games ahead. So it is challenge I give to the boys to deliver so that we pick up the three points from Busoga.”
On the other side, Busoga United will be eyeing consecutive victories having won their last game against Tooro.
In a rescheduled fixture at Njeru, the Abbey Kikomeko Bogere coached side will be eyeing maximum points in what looks like their last game at Njeru before they head to their new home in Kakindu Stadium.
This being their second home game of the season, assistant coach Jalendo Jimmy says they want to get their first win of the season at home.
“Our focus is getting off the mark at home. We have prepared well since we didn’t rest in this international break.”
