Uganda netball team, the She Cranes, strolled past Botswana to register their fourth straight win and extend their perfect start in the ongoing 2021 African Netball Cup in Windhoek, Namibia.
The team won 81-29 to record the highest score of the competition so far, previously Uganda had defeated Tanzania, Zambia, and hosts Namibia in the tourney which started last Wednesday.

The first quarter was evenly contested in the first 10 minutes, with slow paced play from both sides, but eventually Uganda’s defensive unit emerged to take the quarter by 18-8 at the expense of Botswana’s poor turn over utilization.
In second quarter, Botswana looked too casual on the attack, on which Uganda capitalized to stretch the lead. Even though Botswana introduced in new goal keeper and shooter midway through the quarter, there was nothing they could do to stop an already fired up Uganda who continued to run riot even more as they won the quarter by 25-5 to go into half time break with a health lead of 43-13.
In the third quarter, Uganda embarked on quick drive and tight marking, forcing Botswana to play back passes and over balls which resulted into many forced errors on which She Cranes benefited from to win it by 62-22.
Final quarter with no pressure, Uganda continued to play it safe and made more interceptions, going in for each and every ball to stretch the goal margin far from reach and eventually recorded the highest score of the tournament so far when the game ended by 81-29.
‘’This game meant a lot, because we know it was going to be physical so we had to come in strong, using a lot of energy to see that we win balls, so I should say this was a good game,” she cranes captain Stella Oyella commented after the game.
Uganda will return to action on Saturday morning to face another physical Zimbabwe before Kenya on Sunday.
