Uganda Cranes coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovich has included KCCA FC defender Geoffrey Wasswa to the contingent to Morocco for Sunday’s game with Mali, The-SportsNation can exclusively report.
Wasswa was not part of the 23 players listed for the 1-1 draw with Kenya on Thursday at Kitende.
He joins the team after the withdrawal of Timothy Awany and Yunus Sentamu who are suspended following their second bookings against the Harambee Stars.
Express FC midfielder Mahad Yaya Kakooza has been left behind despite making the squad against Kenya on Thursday.
The team is expected to arrive in Agadir Morocco via Cassablanca in the evening of Friday.
Uganda managed just a point against Kenya and Mali’s 3-0 win away to Rwanda sealed their place at the playoff round with Uganda’s game to spare.
Only pride will be at stake when the two teams (Uganda and Mali) meet on Sunday.
