•Ethiopia Vs Uganda – 4pm
Uganda Women’s National team, the Crested Cranes, have sights on a place in the second round of the Africa Women Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
Uganda face hosts Ethiopia on Tuesday in the return leg at the Abebe Bikila Stadium in Addis Ababa.
Goals from Riticia Nabbosa and Fauziah Najjemba handed the Crested Cranes a 2-0 cushion at Kitende but coach George Lutalo is well aware that the job is halfway done.
Lutalo stated that the morale is good in camp and all the players are in good shape. He added: “We expect the best results tomorrow.”
Forward Laki Otandeka is part of Uganda Crested Cranes squad in Ethiopia having missed the first leg.
Ethiopia captain Loza Abera is confident that they have the capability to turn the tables.
She is quoted: “We know Uganda is a strong team, but we need to play as a team and be cautious to be able to get the result we want to qualify for the next stage.”
“We need early goals and also play with better defending than we did in the first leg.”
The winner between Ethiopia and Uganda over the two legs will face Kenya in the second round who eliminated South Sudan with a 15-1 victory on aggregate.
That, will be the last qualification pathway to the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations set to be held in Morocco next year in July.
