Pilsner, a brand of Uganda Breweries Ltd, has extended their partnership with the Uganda Premier League.
The deal announced on Monday in a press conference at Kati Kati, is worthy 1 billion shillings for the next three seasons.
The amount is an increment from Sh450m which was announced in 2018 at UBL officers in Luzira.
The deal will see Pilsner reward excellence through the Pilsner Man of the Match, Pilsner Player and Coach of the Month Awards.
UPL board vice chairman David Serebe said that the League Brand is growing and the partnership extension has been inevitable.
“This league is improving and many players are being called to the National team,” briefly Serebe.
Each Pilsner Man of the Match winner gets Sh100,000 while Sh1m is awarded to Pilsner coach and player of the month.
“This is a league that is really loved by Ugandans, it really employs many youths and these are our consumers,” Edgar Kihumuro, Brand Manager Pilsner Lager, commented.

In new changes, a Pilsner Predict and Win Fans challenge has been added to engage more fans.
“And we are tapping into this to engage more fans. We want to give back to these fans who will be able to achieve from what they enjoy.”
“Fans who correctly predict the outcome of games will instantly share UGX 200,000 on each match-day and at the end of the month we shall also be rewarding the Pilsner Fan of the Month who has made the most number of correct predictions with UGX 500,000.
“And at the end of the season, the top 16 fans with the most number of correct predictions will share cash prizes totalling UGX
20,000,000.”
UPL CEO Bernard Bainamani commended Pilsner for their continued support towards Sports.
He also said that the league secretariat is moving to improve on the integrity of these awards to see that the right choices are made despite increasing debates.
Bainamani: “We try as much as possible to involve the technical people when selecting the Pilsner Man of the match and Monthly awards.”
