South Sudan men’s national football team head Coach Simon James Yor has summoned 35 regional and international players to start camping and training ahead of a mini tournament in Morocco slated between 6-12th October.
Among the summoned players, four Uganda Premier league players have been named in the squad.
They include Dhata Joseph Stephen from Vipers SC, Ivani Wani from Bul FC, Rashid Toha from Arua Hill SC and Emmanuel Loki from Bright stars.
The other two players from Uganda include Data Elly Christopher from Big League side Kyetume FC and Wayi Godfrey from Raising Star.
It has been understood that the international players will start jetting in on Thursday to enter into a residential camp.
This will be Simon James’ first task on his new role, who was recently named as the provisional head coach for the national men football team on September 17, 2021.
Yor is expected to work alongside Manowa Deng (assistant coach), Peter Nicola Orat (fitness coach) and Charles Sebit as goalkeeping coach.
The mini tournament will be held from the 4th to 12th October.
South Sudan will face Gambia, Sierra Leone, South Sudan and Morocco.
Morocco will field their Second Team as their senior side are preparing to face Guinea Bissau in the World Cup qualifiers.
In the recent FIFA rankings, South Sudan sits in the 165th place with 983 points.
