Uganda Cranes defender Isaac Isinde is set to join Uganda Premier league side Busoga United, TheSportsNation has learnt.
It has been understood that the centre back is on the verge of returning to his boyhood club he featured for then (Kirinya Jinja SS) in the 2018-19 seaaon.
He has been training with Busoga United ahead of season kickoff next month.
Isinde has been looked at as a possible addition to a club that has lost key defenders in the team. He will be expected to fill the void left by defenders Shafik Nana Kakeeto and Douglas Muganga, who recently joined rivals Bul FC after the expiration of his contract.
If the deal to sign the centre back gets done, Isinde’s addition will prove to be a big addition as he comes with a proven experience and good leadership skills.
Of recent, Isinde has been featuring for Ethiopian premier league side Hadiya Hossana.
The journey man has also featured for clubs like Saint George in Ethiopia, Buildcon FC in Zambia and Trau FC. In Uganda, Isinde has featured for Iganga Town Council, Victors FC and Simba.
In the ongoing transfer window, the club has already lost midfielders George Kasonko, Jerome Kirya, Ivani Wani who crossed to rivals Bul FC. The latest player to exit the Jinja based side is forward Sharif Kimbowa who joined Wakiso Giants this week.
Ahead of the new season, Busoga United conducted trials for players last month as they seek to add in new young blood to a team that has lost key players in the team.
Last season, Busoga United spent the best of the season fighting relegation. They finished 13th with 26 points from 26 games played.
