Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have confirmed the departure of striker Muhammad Shaban.
The club, in a statement in their official website, says that Shaban has left by mutual consent.
“He had one more year to run on his contract but following positive and constructive recent discussions with him, both parts reached an agreement to terminate the contract.”
The striker is strongly linked to a return to Onduparaka FC.
The former Raja Casablanca forward joined the Venoms at the start of the 2019/20 season following a mutual agreement to terminate his employment contract with the Moroccan giants.
During his two-year stay in Casablanca, the enigmatic forward made just seven appearances and witnessed his strike in the back of the net only once, thereby underwhelming both the club and the fans.
His move to Kitende appeared to offer a shot at redemption for Jagason (as he prefers to be called by his peers) but little did he know that he was to find it had to hit his expected mark courtesy of injuries.
Per Vipers, he only scored once in eight games last season.
