Joseph Zziwa’s Regional Adventures Take Him To Coastal Union

Ugandan central defender Joseph Zziwa has officially joined Tanzanian side Coastal Union from Biashara United on a two-year employment contract.

The former Kiwanga United (Buganda Regional side) player, is a defender by trade but also possesses the incredible ability to play in midfield as an anchorman in argumentation of his defensive abilities.

Nicknamed “Babayalo” around the football circles, Zziwa has recently played for reigning Ugandan Premier League champions Express FC under the stewardship of George Simwogerere before crossing boards within the region.

The defensive rock commenced his football career with Sparta Academy before joining Makindye Junior Academy. It was from here that he started his adventures around the game.

Zziwa joins Yayo Lutimba and Nicholas Ssebwato as the other Ugandans to have played for the Tanzania side who host their league games at Mkwakwani Stadium.

He will however be hoping that his stay with this gigantic club stretches a bit longer as compared to his counterparts.

Coastal Union finished 13th in the previous season of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League and have since appointed Melis Medo as their new head coach following the departure of his now predecessor.
