Crested Cranes: Lutalo Replaces Bulega, Cosafa Squad named

George Lutalo has been named as the new coach for national women team, the Crested Cranes.

Lutalo replaced Faridah Bulega who has enrolled for CAF B coaching course in Nairobi.

He was recently relieved of his duties at Uganda Premier League side URA FC where he served as an assistant coach for Sam Ssimbwa since 2018.

Lutalo, former Police FC player, has also coached Soana FC (Tooro United) and JMC.

SC Villa coach Edward Kaziba has been retained as the assistant coach while James Magala remains as the goalkeeping coach.

Former Uganda Cranes goalkeeper, Paul Ssali will serve as the Team Manager whereas Mable Kabatalindwa and Prossy Nalwadda are the Team Doctor and Equipment Manager respectively.

The Technical Team has summoned the 2021 COSAFA Women’s Championship in Port Elizabeth, South Africa slated for 28th September – 9th October 2021.

Uganda is taking part in the tournament to prepare for the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Ethiopia.

The provisional squad of 32 players has been summoned and will enter camp on September 2021.
