Lawrence Mulindwa: Vipers SC To Be Number One In Africa

Vipers SC director Dr. Lwarence Mulindwa has amplified his desire for this gigantic club to be the number one football franchise on the continent of Africa and also lockhorns with the very best.

This he highlighted at the sophisticated and televised unveiling ceremony of the club’s new manager, Robertinho Oliveira Goncalves Do Carmo, on Friday August 27th.

The Venoms director was however quick to make mention of the fact that to optimally fulfill their quest for greatness, the club had to first establish itself as the very best in the country.

“As anyone close to football is aware, the game is played on the basis of a family where everybody is expected to make a contribution, voluntarily or involuntarily in order to ensure that the desired returns are obtained.” He stated.

This definitely requires a coach who, according to him, has values of leadership, but also one that will offer a strategic direction and guidance that will lead to the realization of the club’s vision.

Mulindwa further highlighted the above as the qualities the professionals charged with the responsibility of finding a football manager were looking for as very important ingredients.

“Our search was for a manager who appreciates youth developments and nurtures talent which is so abundant at our academy, St. Mary’s Kitende. Someone who could therefore handle this project was needed and am glad we got him.” He added.

He also indicated the need to improve on the mentality of the players which seems to be a big disease with Ugandan players.

The Brazilian gaffer addresses these requirements according to Mulindwa especially because he promises to instill a sense of consistency in the players along with a winning mentality that will more than guarantee success.

“These considerations were considered while making the decision and I am very sure that we zeroed down to the best option there was in the market.” He assured the media.

The assurances didn’t just stop at that because he would further promise that the transformation wasn’t merely a change of guards but a fundamental one, real marriage at that.

The dream is to see Vipers SC as number one according to Mulindwa and he will be very happy to see this manifest itself under the new technical management at the club.
